How to Unbox, Prepare, and Care for Your Flowers

Thank you for choosing Petal Post! Our flowers are specially treated with a unique wax seal to lock in moisture, ensuring your bouquet stays fresh and vibrant for longer. Follow these simple steps to unbox, prepare, and care for your flowers.

Upon Receiving Your Flowers

1. Unpack Carefully

• Open the box and gently remove the flowers, noting that some cardboard may come along with them.

• The flowers are secured in place by a wax seal at the bottom of the box to preserve the stems during transit.

2. Break the Wax Seal

• Hold the stems firmly near the base and gently twist to break the wax seal securing them to the box.

• Be cautious to avoid damaging the petals or stems during this step.

3. Inspect Your Bouquet

• Examine the bouquet for any loose or damaged petals caused by transit and carefully remove them.

Preparing Your Flowers for Water

1. Trim the Wax-Coated Stems

• Using clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears, cut 1/2 inch to 1 inch off the bottom of each stem at a diagonal angle. This removes the wax seal and opens the stem for proper water absorption.

2. Hydrate Your Flowers

• Fill a clean vase with fresh, room-temperature water.

• Place the freshly trimmed stems directly into the vase. Ensure no leaves are submerged to prevent bacteria growth.

3. Arrange Your Flowers

• Gently adjust the arrangement in the vase as desired. Your flowers are now ready to thrive!

Ongoing Care

1. Change the Water

• Refresh the water every 2–3 days to keep your flowers looking their best.
